Travel directions from NYC to the Mall at Short Hills

The Mall at Short Hills is a high-end mall in Millburn, New Jersey about 40 miles (60 km) southwest of Midtown, Manhattan. This 1.3 million square foot (120,780 sq meter) mall, which is owned by The Taubman Company, is ranked as one of the largest shopping malls in State of New Jersey.

Getting to and from the mall is easy, all you need is a train ticket and an hour of travel time each way.

From Penn Station, take NJ Transit's Morris and Essex Line westbound to Chatham, where a transfer can be made to NJ Transit bus route 873, which serves the towns of Morristown, Dover and Roxbury, to the mall. The trip from the city to the mall via Chatham will take about 45 to 50 minutes and the one way train fare is $10 ($20 round trip).

The bus fare from the train station in Chatham to the mall will cost you around $1.50 one way ($3.50 round trip).

It should be noted that NJ Transit bus route 873 only operates during the week (Monday to Friday). So if you're traveling to the mall on the weekends, I would recommend checking-in to the nearby Hilton Short Hills Hotel the night before, especially if there is a big weekend sale at the mall. The hotel is located right across street from the mall on JFK Parkway.

Happy shopping.
