Long Closed Lower Manhattan Subway Station Reopens

After being closed for nearly 17 years, the Cortlandt Street station on the Number 1 Subway Line opened to passengers on Saturday. The station, which sits in the shadow of the Freedom Tower of the World Trade Center, was heavily damaged in the September 11th Terrorist Attack.

And as scheduled, the first train pulls into the newly rebuild station. Now known as WTC Cortlandt.

Another sign that Lower Manhattan is coming back better than ever.
