The
first cold-weathered Super Bowl in the history of the National Football
League will take place on Sunday and already fans are in town for the
big event.
Although
the game between AFC Champion Denver Broncos and the NFC Champion
Seattle Seahawks will take place at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford,
NJ, many of the events will take place here in the city.
A 13-block stretch of Broadway from 34 to 47 Street
has been transformed into “Super Bowl Boulevard” featuring various
activities for football fans, including an eight-lane toboggan run an a
photo-op with the Venice Lombardy Trophy.
Many of the events on “Super Bowl Boulevard” are free, however, the toboggan run will set you back $5.
Not
to be outdone, the Empire State Building and the George Washington
Bridge are both having a nightly lightshow in honor of the big event,
which will last until Sunday night.
Security is high on both side of the Hudson River, therefore, officials are advising fans to take public transit in order to get around.
