Good news foodies, Tavern on the Green, the once-bustling restaurant in Central Park, will reopen at the end of this month after being shuttered for four years.
The restaurant closed in 2010 after the city opted not to renew the previous owner's lease, which had been active since 1973.
In
2012, the city allowed Tavern on the Green's new owners to begin
remodeling the restaurant, scaling down its size and fixing its
infrastructure.
The new owners, David Salama and Jim Caiola, planned to open the restaurant last November in time for the Christmas, but construction problems caused delays.
Tavern on the Green is now taking reservations for dinner beginning April 24 with lunch and brunch menus launching in May for Mother's Day weekend.
