Another piece of New York history going to the way of the subway token.

After nearly a century as a live concert venue, the Roseland Ballroom closed its doors for the final time on Monday night with Lady Gaga as it final performer.

The legendary music hall first opened in 1919 and moved to its current location on 52nd Street in 1958.

After a major renovation in the 1990s, Roseland became a popular place for small bands just starting out and bigger acts looking for a more intimate performance.

According to the Village Voice, the site where Roseland now stands will be occupied by an apartment tower.
